Events
We are in your community all the time, but we also are on hand for special events from time to time, either those initiated by us or through partnership with your own community events.
Some ideas include water education presentations for schools, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, church groups, etc.
FGUA Staff Serves the Schools
FGUA joins other businesses, churches, clubs and individuals in support of schools for the new school year.
The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) joined many other businesses, churches and other organizations on Saturday, August 6 for West Pasco Serve Day. The annual event provides an opportunity for volunteers to assist schools and students prepare for the upcoming academic year. The event is sponsored by the United Way of Pasco County and One Community Now, a Faith-based organization with the goal of bringing together volunteers within the community. FGUA and its contractor, U.S. Water Services Corporation (U.S. Water), assisted with preparation for the “Clothing Closet” Drive at Gulfside Elementary School. According to Principal Chris Clayton, the Drive, occurring from August 8-17, is administered by the school’s Parent Teacher Organization and school administration and is available to disadvantaged families in the community. Students and parents may pick out clothing, accessories, and backpacks in advance of the school year, beginning in Pasco County on August 22. FGUA and U.S. Water volunteers assisted at the event by sorting new and gently used clothing, backpacks, and toys throughout the morning.
