Golden Gate
AREA SERVED
The Golden Gate System serves the Golden Gate community in Collier County. Golden Gate is a series of large subdivisions that cover just over four square miles of urban residential and light commercial property. Most of these are single-family homes.
The service area is bordered by the Golden Gate main canal, Santa Barbara and Collier boulevards (County Road 951) – approximately eight miles east of Naples in Collier County.
SERVICES PROVIDED
- Water/Wastewater
The Golden Gate system includes one water plant with reverse osmosis treatment of water from a series of shallow aquifer wells that pump about 1.95 million gallons per day, and a wastewater treatment plant. The FGUA has invested millions of dollars in system improvements over the last five years, and will continue with necessary capital improvements outlined in the FGUA Five-Year Plan.
NUMBER OF CUSTOMERS
The Golden Gate System serves approximately 3,500 water customers and more than 2,200 wastewater customers. This System serves about half of the Golden Gate development with water services and provides a little less than half with wastewater services.
