Michael Carballa, P.E., BCEE

Mr. Carballa is the Director of the Utilities Engineering and Contract Management Department. This 36-person engineering department supports the Utilities Branch through system planning, service commitment to the development community, inspections, a capital improvement program, and technical support, which includes engineering design, analysis, asset management, and GIS services. He has over 20 years of engineering and leadership experience as a private sector consultant and a United States Air Force officer. He is a registered Florida Professional Engineer and a Board Certified Environmental Engineer by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of South Florida. Mike is currently serving as the Interim Assistant County Administrator for the Public Infrastructure Branch, which includes Administration and Support Services, Utilities Engineering and Contract Management, Utilities Operations & Maintenance, Utilities Customer Service, Solid Waste, Public Works, and Engineering Services.
