County Administrator for Flagler County
Mr. Cameron’s public sector experience in Administration spans thirteen years and includes his current position as County Administrator for Flagler County, Assistant County Administrator for Community Services in St. Johns County, and City Manager of Fernandina Beach. Additionally, Cameron served for more than a decade as Chief of Police – in Irmo, SC and Fernandina Beach, FL.
Cameron’s private sector positions include Managing Partner of Community Consulting and Management, LLC, which provided expertise in hurricane recovery efforts and in community relations with a focus on substance abuse and mental health issues at the local level. As Adjunct Faculty Member at the University of North Florida, Institute of Police Technology & Management, he provided instruction in Budgeting, Ethics, and Management.
Cameron brings extensive experience in planning, budget preparation, infrastructure, public safety, communications, project management, organizational culture, professional development, and public/private initiatives – and a belief that sound financial responsibility is the most important responsibility of government.
Mr. Cameron studied at the University of South Carolina and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. His works have been published in national and international outlets, including The FBI Journal, and he was featured in Newsweek for his work on the use of computing technology by law enforcement.
