Proudly providing water and wastewater service to thousands of Floridians since 1999.

Ocala, FL – Belleair Interconnects with Marion County

Monday, July 27, 2015

On July 20th 2015, the FGUA activated a recently constructed water main interconnect between the Belleair Water System and Marion County Utilities. This water system interconnect project will provide customers with improved water pressure, improved water quality and service reliability.

In March 2013, the FGUA acquired the water and wastewater assets of Aqua Utilities Florida and a portion of this utility system consisted of 12 systems to include serving over 200 customers in the Belleair community located in Marion County.

The mission of the Florida Governmental Utility Authority is to provide communities with high value, cost effective utility management alternatives within a public governance structure, which maximizes customer service quality.

The water system interconnection between the FGUA and Marion County Utilities is a great example of two communities finding a way to work together for the benefit of both systems by improving safety and increasing operating efficiency.
