FGUA home

Planning & Resources

As a local government entity, the FGUA works closely with local counties and state agencies like the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the Department of Health, and several water management districts, such as the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD). The FGUA actively participates in conservation measures by ensuring that our withdraws from the Floridan aquifer are in compliance and not in excess of our permitted limits.

In addition, the FGUA has several rate structures in place that promote conservation with its customers. By having tiered rates in many of our systems, the FGUA is able to promote conservation, while being good stewards of our environmental resources. The FGUA also encourages its customers to follow water restrictions that may be in place by various government agencies or local governments during different times of the year.
