The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) recently announced that the Silver Lakes Estates Water Treatment Facility has been awarded the 2020 Drinking Water Plant Operations Excellence Award. The award was presented to FGUA for its facility’s “outstanding operation, maintenance and compliance during the 2020 award cycle.”
The Silver Lake Estates Water Treatment Plant is located in the Lake “Aqua” FGUA utility system and currently serves 3,500 residents.
Pictured above is Gary Kissick, US Water Services Facility Operator, and William “Will” Fontaine, FGUA State Operations Manager. Gary presented the FDEP Excellence Award to Will on Thursday, August 19, 2021, during the monthly FGUA Board Meeting in Lady Lake, FL.
We are all very proud of Mr. Kissick, who has over 28 years of experience as a licensed utility operator. We appreciate all his hard work and operational knowledge and congratulate him on this impressive commendation.
