The Town of Lady Lake and the Florida Governmental Utility Authority announced the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of the 1st Annual Water Awareness Poster Contest at the Lady Lake Town Commission Meeting on Monday, May 15, 2017.
The Town of Lady Lake and the Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) sponsored a water awareness poster contest at the Villages Elementary School during the month of April celebrating Water Conservation Month.
Approximately 430 students in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade levels participated through their art class. Each week during April students learned the importance of preserving this precious resource and ways they can make a difference in their community.

At the end of the month the school selected the top 10 posters from each of the three grade levels. Those posters were brought to Town Hall and judged by a committee of 10 who selected a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each grade level. There was a tremendous amount of support from the community in the form of 15 sponsorship donations.
All 30 students received a water conservation bag filled with all kinds of goodies from our sponsors. The nine winning posters will be on display along with the sponsor banner at the Lady Lake Library until the end of June.
