RE: Aloha Gardens Wastewater Service Issue

Dear Resident:

The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) is requesting our customers’ assistance by conserving water use after a local sewer force main break occurred on a Pasco County Utilities sewer main.

The FGUA 10-inch sewer force main conveys its wastewater from the Aloha Gardens system to a Pasco County 24-inch sewer force main.  The county’s sewer force main is the primary method of transmitting FGUA’s and Pasco County Utilities’ wastewater to the City of New Port Richey Wastewater Treatment Plant. Unfortunately, the County’s force main broke on Sea Forrest Drive in Gulf Harbors.

Pasco County staff will begin repairs to the force main today, making repairs as quickly as possible.  In the meantime, FGUA will make every necessary effort to meet state and federal wastewater containment requirements on its facilities.

Steps to reduce your capacity:

  • Only flush toilets as necessary
  • Reduce shower times and delay, where possible, use of dishwashers and washing machines to reduce the burden on the utility system.
  • Turn off the water when brushing your teeth

We appreciate your water conservation efforts during this challenging event.  For updates on the status of the County’s repair, please visit the FGUA Outages and Notices web page at: https://www.fgua.com/support-center/outages/.
