The FGUA Precautionary Boil Water Notice Advisory for the 246 affected customers in the Arredondo Estates system has been rescinded following repairs at the water treatment plant, and following water samples taken to a Florida Department of Health-certified laboratory indicating that the water is safe to drink. The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) experienced an unexpected well operations interruption at the Arredondo Estates water treatment plant. As a result, there was a system-wide service outage in this area. Customers in the Arredondo Estates System may continue to experience a loss of water pressure and service. FGUA crews are onsite to complete repairs and restore service as soon as possible.
A Precautionary Boil Water Notice Advisory will be in effect for the affected customers. During the Advisory, water used for cooking or drinking should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute prior to use to remove any bacteria or viruses from the water. Alternatively, bottled water may be used.
Water samples will be taken to a Florida Department of Health-certified laboratory, and the Advisory will be lifted once water samples indicate the water is safe to drink, most likely by Monday, April 15, 2019.
