The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) has lifted the Precautionary Boil Water Notice Advisory due to the following repairs to the watermain break at 10530 Newbury Ct. The following 10 customer addresses that were affected include 10500, 10502, 10504, 10506, 10512, 10514, 10516, 10518, 10524, 10526 and 10530 Newbury Ct., Lehigh Acres has been rescinded.  Water samples taken to a Florida Department of Health-certified laboratory indicate that the water is safe to drink.  The rescission was provided today at 11:00 am.  Customers were notified by door hanger and are receiving Reverse 911 notifications.

The FGUA apologizes for any inconvenience during the outage and advisory period, and delay in Reverse 911 notification.  Customers with questions regarding their regular service may call the FGUA Customer Service Office at (877) 657-8889.

The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) issues a Precautionary Boil Water Notice Advisory for the FGUA Lehigh Acres Water System customers on Monday, September 18th, as the FGUA repairs a 2″ watermain break at 10530 Newbury CT. Lehigh Acres, FL 33936. The following addresses that are affected by this interuption are as follows: 10500, 10502, 10504, 10506, 10512, 10514, 10516, 10518, 10524, 10526 and 10530 Newbury Ct., Lehigh Acres

The service was interrupted at 12:00pm and restored service is expected by 3:00pm.

Following restoration of service, a Precautionary Boil Water Notice Advisory will be in effect and will be rescinded once water samples taken to an independent, Florida Department of Health-certified laboratory indicate that the water is safe to drink, most likely by Wednesday, September 20th.  During the Advisory, customers are encouraged to follow United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, and bring water used for cooking or drinking to a rolling boil for one minute.  This will neutralize any possible active viruses or bacteria that may have entered the lines during the improvements.  Alternatively, bottled water may be used.
