The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) has lifted the Precautionary Boil Water Notice Advisory due to the following repairs to the watermain break within the Lake Fairways Water System. The following 152 customer addresses that were affected include Cedar Crest CT; Bermuda CT; and Bay Hill CT has been rescinded. Water samples taken to a Florida Department of Health-certified laboratory indicate that the water is safe to drink. The rescission was provided today at 12:13 pm. Customers were notified by door hanger and are receiving Reverse 911 notifications.
The FGUA apologizes for any inconvenience during the outage and advisory period, and delay in Reverse 911 notification. Customers with questions regarding their regular service may call the FGUA Customer Service Office at (877) 657-8889.

The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) issues a Precautionary Boil Water Notice Advisory for the FGUA North Ft. Myers Lake Fairways customers on Wednesday, September 13th, as the FGUA repairs a 12″ watermain break.
The service was interrupted at 1:45pm. The following customers affected by this activity: include Cedar Crest CT; Bermuda CT; and Bay Hill CT. Expected restored service by 3:00pm.

Following restoration of service, a Precautionary Boil Water Notice Advisory will be in effect and will be rescinded once water samples taken to an independent, Florida Department of Health-certified laboratory indicate that the water is safe to drink, most likely by Friday, September 15th. During the Advisory, customers are encouraged to follow United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, and bring water used for cooking or drinking to a rolling boil for one minute. This will neutralize any possible active viruses or bacteria that may have entered the lines during the improvements. Alternatively, bottled water may be used.
