The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) has rescinded the Precautionary Boil Water Notice Advisory at 11:30am for 100 FGUA Orange Hill/Sugar Creek System customers in Winter Haven at 1:30 p.m. today following repairs to a two-inch water main break near the intersection of Hamlin Street and Thornhill Road.  The following addresses are affected by the notice:

  • All residences on Hamlin Street
  • All residences on Valencia Street
  • 2976-3020 Thorn Hill Road

All customers were notified by door hangers and/or by Reverse 911 telpehone notification.  Customers may now resume water use as desired.  Customers with questions regarding their water service may contact the FGUA Lady Lake Customer Service Office by phone during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at (352) 633-9700.

The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) has issued a Precautionary Boil Water Notice Advisory for 100 FGUA Orange Hill/Sugar Creek System customers in Winter Haven at 1:30 p.m. today following repairs to a two-inch water main break near the intersection of Hamlin Street and Thornhill Road.  The following addresses are affected by the notice:

  • All residences on Hamlin Street
  • All residences on Valencia Street
  • 2976-3020 Thorn Hill Road

Following restoration of service, water samples were taken to a Florida Department of Health-certified laboratory, and the Advisory wiil be rescinded once water samples taken to an independent, Florida Department of Health-certified laboratory indicate the water was safe to drink, most likely by Monday, January 23.  During the Advisory, FGUA encourages customers follow United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, and bring water used for cooking or drinking to a rolling boil of one minute before use.   Alternatively, bottled water may be used.   The FGUA apologizes for any inconvenience customers may experience due to this unplanned outage and notice.  Customers with questions regarding their regular service may call the FGUA Lady Lake Customer Service Office during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)  at (352) 633-9700.
